VALORISTE: Fostering adults volunteering towards sustainable
development through circular economy practices

PROJECT OBJECTIVES

"Valoriste Agents" are professionals responsible for the recycling and upcycling of stuff and goods. They value and resell the collected objects, extending the life cycle of products and contributing to the goal of achieving a zero-waste society. This profession, acknowledged in Belgium and France, has now become essential in the circular economy (CE).


IMPLEMENTATION

The first target group are low-qualified adults and adults from socially vulnerable groups that need to be upskilled for the development of green competences that they can transform into entrepreneur activities and that can contribute to their social integration.
The second target group of VALORISTE are adult educators, Valoriste Agents, and other practitioners involved in the circular economy that also need to improve their green competences and/or need to gain training delivery skills.

RESULTS

The main results of the project will be the creation of:
1. a VALORISTE training programme: a curriculum for future VALORISTE volunteers with training modules on sustainable development, circular economy and volunteering,
2. a VALORISTE toolkit with training resources to support adult educators, Valoriste Agents and other practitioners involved in the circular economy,
3. digital stories and massive open online course: based upon video digital stories of the best practices on circular economy and a massive open online course providing access to all VALORISTE training content.
